RNS to manufacture silicone rubber sealing boots

To complement their range of JMA one-piece waterproof compression connectors, Radio Network Solutions (RNS) has developed and manufactured custom moulded silicone rubber boots in South Africa.

As a leader in the telecommunications industry in Africa, the RNS silicone boots will soon be at the forefront of re-useable weatherproofing solutions.

“We strive to continuously innovate and provide reliable and custom-made solutions to our valued customers,” says RNS sales director Richard Hill. “Silicone rubber boots are a step forward. Firstly the ease of installation, because you can seal connectors in seconds; and secondly the simplicity of onsite remedial work as you no longer have the frustration of undoing and re-sealing the mastic and tape method that has been used for so long.”

The silicone boots will provide added protection to the connector matings. The boots, although rated as IP-68and can be used in submerged installations, are used primarily as an environmental protection boot to protect and prolong the life-span of the connectors.

RNS will custom-fit boots to any length jumper cable, thereby providing a one-stop solution for any application. The boots are available in ½ Hiflex to the antenna/combiner connector, and ½ Hiflex to 7/8 cable for the main feeder runs.
